Colossians 1:13-14 “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Application: Salvation is not self-improvement - it is a divine rescue from darkness into Christ’s kingdom. As redeemed people, we no longer belong to sin but to God’s rule. This means we fight temptation not as slaves, but as those already set free. Our past no longer defines us, and neither does fear or shame. Today, walk in that freedom - make decisions, treat others, and pursue holiness as one who belongs fully to Christ.

James 1:12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” Application: James 1:12 teaches that trials are not just obstacles but opportunities for spiritual formation. In the ancient world, crowns symbolized victory, and James uses this imagery to show that endurance in faith leads to eternal reward. For early Christians facing persecution, this was a radical encouragement—their suffering was not in vain. Today, we often view hardship as something to avoid, but James calls us to see it as a path to maturity. Rather than just enduring, we are being refined into people who reflect God’s character. This week, when facing difficulties, pause and ask: how might God be strengthening my faith through this?

Verse for today from Kevin. Live in peace knowing our Lord has got you covered. Thank you for the great reminder today! Psalm 4:8 “In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Application: When anxiety and fear try to steal our peace, this verse reminds us that true security is found in God alone. Rather than letting worries consume our mind, we can trust that He watches over us, allowing us to rest in peace. Tonight, surrender your burdens to Him in prayer, knowing that His presence is your protection. Resting well is an act of faith, so trust that He is in control and let His peace guard your heart and mind. Rest well.

1st Annual FCA Golf Challenge was a success!

Steve Hosey Bio Keynote Speaker Steve Hosey, has been a small business owner and former Major League Baseball (MLB) player, he has a deep commitment to the Fresno community because of the impact our community had on him when he was a young baseball player at California State University of Fresno (Fresno State). Although Steve grew up in East Oakland, in in a single parent household, Fresno has been his home and where him and his wife decided to raise their family the last 30 years. Our community had such an impact on Steve that during his Major-League Baseball career, when he played and coached for the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics, Steve and his family made Fresno their offseason home. In Addition to this Steve has served in his local church for over a decade in a leadership position and provided mentorship and guidance for young families in our community. In 2019 Steve and his Wife Deborah both graduated from Life Pacific University with degrees in Christian Ministry and Leadership.
